SCRIPTURAL REFERENCES: WEARINESS AND “ACHINESS”

Here are a few references from the Word of God involving weariness and achiness:

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away(Psalm 31:10).

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered(washed away). Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was turned into the drought of summer. I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin (Psalm 32:1-5).

…The everlasting God…neither faints nor is weary… He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary…but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:28-31).

Physical weariness/muscle “achiness” involves fatigue, weakness, and “energy-less.” These are often associated with depression and guilt. For those who walk in the light of Christ ’s life, remedies will involve thankfulness, gratefulness, turning away from sin, and getting free from guilt.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus…(Romans 8:1).

The Lord will give strength(and) will bless His people with peace… (Psalm 29:11). to His people

…He is their strength(Psalm 37:39). in the time of trouble…

To console those who mourn…to give them…joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness(Isaiah 61:3).

The way of the Lord is strength(Proverbs 10:29). for the upright…

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me(Philippians 4:13).

Therefore, strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may …be healed(Hebrews 12:12 -13).

An attitude of gratefulness along with sin-free/guilt-free living will help the believer in Christ to overcome weariness/muscle achiness/fatigue.
